The Cessna 162 skycatcher

Our new 2011 Cessna Skycatcher is available for rental to any certificated pilot. We require a quick check-out with one of our instructors before you can rent the aircraft. Current light sport pilots are encouraged to come check out the new Skycatcher.

The aircraft...

Two place Single engine cruiser

The Skycatcher is a certified special light sport aircraft. This little 2 seater has a max gross weight of 1320 lbs. with a top speed of 118 knots. A great fun to fly around the patch or short day-trip aircraft. With a cockpit wider than the 172 the Skycatcher seems almost too comfortable. Add in the advanced Garmin G300 PFD and MFD and you'd almost think you were in a much more complex aircraft. The bottom line is these aircraft were made to fly inexpensively and to be fun. Cessna didn't miss the mark!

Engine

Teledyne Continental engines are recognized throughout the industry for their high standards of performance and reliability. The Skycatcher features a Continental O-200D, an air-cooled, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated, spark ignition, direct drive engine.

Cruise at speeds up to 118 knots (138 mph), with a range of 400 nautical miles (741 km) and a service ceiling of 14,625 feet (4,458 m). Making the Skycatcher the perfect trainer to learn to fly in. Under light sport rules, maximum aircraft speed is 120 knots.

Our modern 172's are equipped with standard round gages "steam gauges" and both equipped with GPS. All of our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards right here on the field. You'll experience a different level of quality with our aircraft. Besides the regular maintenance, our aircraft are guaranteed clean, prepared and squawk free when you show up for your flight. You shouldn't have to waste time on the ground preparing the aircraft for flight. We'll make sure that it's ready to go!

The Skyhawk has a cruise speed of 126 knots (233 km/h) and a 730 fpm (223 mpm) rate of climb, the Skyhawk SP serves up fun at altitudes up to 14,000 feet. At 55% power the Skyhawk has a range of 610 nautical miles.
